Hi, I’m Kate.

Snowboarder, café owner, accountant, DIY enthusiast, and currently attempting to keep both a tiny human and a garden alive.

I first caught the snowboarding bug back in 2011 when I headed out for a season after university, and I’ve never really looked back. Since then, I’ve worked in Les Arcs and Morzine running chalets, spent years managing bars and restaurants in Leeds and Manchester, and later moved into event management in Leeds too.

After settling in Halifax, West Yorkshire, I opened my own café, VeGang, before deciding to swap coffee machines for calculators and retrain as an accountant.

Apparently, I like to keep life interesting.

These days I live in the Yorkshire countryside with my husband Greg, our four-month-old son Freddie, and three cats who definitely think they run the house. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me covered in sawdust from another DIY project, training (badly) for my first triathlon, or trying to become the kind of person who’s good at gardening.

I still love the mountains, the snowboarding community, and the chaos and fun that come with season life.

I’m always happiest when there’s fresh snow involved.

Hey, I'm Chris.

If you've tuned into the Thank U Snowboarding podcast, you'll already know me, or at least my voice

Snowboarder, podcast host, music producer, and dad of three, based in Brighton after a life spent chasing snow.

My snowboarding story started on a school ski trip, one look at a snowboard and I was completely hooked. It took a little  before I got to actually ride one, but landing a job at my local dry slope put me in the right place at the right time.

Watching Blizzard of Aahhhs sealed the deal, and I knew right then that the mountains were in my future.

What followed was years of winter seasons, summer dry slope sessions, a stint working for Airwalk, and then 12 years building and running Chillchalet (which is when I employed Kate on her first season)

Eventually, life brought me back to the UK, three kids in tow, and with it, a new chapter.

Thank U Snowboarding started as a project to capture the history and culture of UK snowboarding, and it's grown into something much bigger, the podcast, the community. and now the Thank U Snowboarding camps.

It's been quite the ride, and honestly?

I feel I'm just getting started.
